English Housing Market to remain open during Lockdown 3!

Important Government Announcement: English Housing Market to remain open during Lockdown 3!

Yesterday Boris Johnson laid out new national lockdown restrictions for England, similar to those imposed in March last year. However, unlike with the first lockdown, the housing market is to remain open for business!

Government advice on home moving during the coronavirus crisis remains unchanged. Consequently, people in England will be able to move and removal firms, tradespeople, and estate agents can still operate by going inside homes.

The Government's advice:

  • You can still move home. People outside your household or support
bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary.

  • Estate and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work. If you
are looking to move, you can go to property viewings.

  • Follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes
advice on social distancing, letting fresh air in, and wearing a face
    covering.

At Robert Bell & Company all our offices remain open and our staff home working arrangements remain unchanged. The health and safety of our customers and staff is our top priority.

We are continuing to conduct Covid protocol compliant property viewings, inspections, valuations and surveys.

The housing markets revival in 2020 has proven vital to moving a somewhat start-stop recovery in the UK’s economy, positively forward. The government sees it as being essential that estate agents remain open and continue to service the unprecedented levels of market activity we have seen over recent months. There is a very high number of sales agreed in the market, with many home buyers and sellers firmly focused on completing their deals before the end of the Stamp Duty Holiday on the 31st March.

We hope this latest update provides you with appropriate reassurance as regards our work and the status of the housing market, in what we know are very uncertain and difficult times for many.

Do not hesitate in contacting the team with any concerns you may have. We are here to provide you with all the assistance and support we can.
