Annual Lincoln Longwool Sale

A bidder from Devon made a big difference to sale prices at the Lincoln Longwool Annual Sale on 31st July. He purchased the highest priced ram at 570 guineas as well as several of the pedigree gimmers.

The sale was held at The Heckington Show and attracted a godo display of this county breed of sheep. In addition the event was filmed by the BBC as part of a programme to be released following breeders of livestock to exhibit at shows acrosss the country.

Chairman of the breed, Louise Fairburn, presented a trophy for excellent service to Michael and Julie Coney of Belton who have promoted the breed over the last 40 years (celebrating their ruby wedding).

Auctioneer was Robert Bell.
