Each month we sell on average 800 lots on behalf of executors and solicitors acting for estates, as well as many private vendors. We accept good quality entries of the majority of items found around the home, garage and garden, including: furniture, clocks & barometers, pictures & mirrors, silver, brass & copper, china & glass, jewellery, books, stamps & postcards, electricals & white goods, garden & outside effects, wide variety of collectables etc.

We accept full and part house clearances. Our auction department will be pleased to help and advise on suitability of entries, reserves, valuations etc where necessary. A home visit can be arranged to assess larger quantities if required.

Entry Procedure

  • Return completed entry form by the Friday prior to the sale

  • Upon receipt of your form we allocate you a vendor number (no numbers are given without forms)

  • Mark all items clearly with your vendor number, which is specific to you

  • Arrange delivery of items to the Stanhope Hall on the Monday preceding the sale (please contact our auction department if you require assistance)

  • Bidding is by number and registration is available on Viewing and Sale days only
  • We accept payment by debit card, cash or cheque
  • Items must be collected on sale day - alternatively please speak to our auction department to arrange storage
  • If you are unable to attend the sale but wish to bid, we operate a commission and telephone bidding service at no charge
