New laws for anti-social tenants!

    Latest from Housing Minister

We are pleased to note that Brandon Lewis the Housing Minister is looking into faster evictions for anti-social tenants.

Mr Lewis has said, ”No one deserves to feel intimidated or unsafe in their own community, yet lengthy court proceedings have left nightmare tenants free to cause misery for their neighbours for years. But new powers mean landlords can take swifter action to evict any tenant convicted of persistent or serious antisocial behaviour, bringing relief to victims and witnesses. It will mean that law abiding tenants will be able to live in peace while anyone found guilty of serious antisocial behaviour cannot benefit from the support that private sector or social housing can offer”. To quote Sim Sekhon of Legal4Landlords, private sector landlords have wanted the tenant eviction process to be made more streamlined and faster for them to gain possession orders to remove bad and antisocial tenants from their properties for some time. This is all good news for landlords.
